Paul S. Taylor

Paul is a Partner in the Financial Services Group of our Calgary office. Paul is a banking lawyer with in-depth experience and expertise with respect to secured and unsecured financing, including with respect to term financing, construction financing, real estate financing, CMHC financing, financing of leasehold estates with respect to both airport lands, university lands, and crown lands, cross country portfolio financing, corporate financing, financing of renewable energy projects, syndicated financing, cross-border financing, project financing, vendor take back financing, diversified lending, agriculture financing, mortgage assumptions, mortgage porting, and the purchase and sale of mortgage portfolios. Paul acts for life insurance companies, banks and other financial institutions, credit unions, private lenders, and borrowers.

Paul also practices commercial real estate law, including with respect to purchase and sale transactions (including the purchase and sale of real estate portfolios and hotels), commercial leasing, the development and operation of renewable energy projects (solar and wind), construction and development projects, and all other things commercial real estate.

Paul started his legal career as a litigator, has appeared at all levels of court, and is often called upon to find creative solutions for his clients in relation to work out arrangements, to handle foreclosures, and to enforce loan security and real estate contracts.

Paul is a practical, confident, and trusted legal and strategic advisor in his field.  Paul regularly shares his expertise and presents to clients with respect to various finance and commercial real estate topics.

Prior to joining Osler, Paul was a partner at another National Canadian law firm.
