Mike Proudfoot

Mike’s practice focuses on corporate finance and securities, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and general corporate matters. Mike has extensive mergers and acquisitions experience, having acted in plans of arrangement, hostile take-over bids, private equity transactions, share and asset acquisitions and proxy contests.

His experience also includes acting for issuers and underwriters in domestic and cross-border debt and equity offerings, including initial public offerings, shelf and short form prospectus offerings and private placements. In addition, Mike regularly advises clients on corporate governance matters and continuous disclosure obligations.

Prior to joining Osler, Mike practiced for a large U.S. law firm out of their San Francisco office, where he assisted private equity sponsors with mergers and acquisitions across multiple industries.

Mike completed his J.D. at the University of Saskatchewan. Prior to attending law school, Mike obtained his BComm in Finance from the University of British Columbia. Mike has completed Levels I and II of the CFA Program.
