Alex Terrell

Alex is an associate in the Tax Group of our Toronto office. She maintains a broad practice in all aspects of Canadian and international tax law, addressing both tax controversy and litigation as well as tax planning and advisory matters. She has advised clients with respect to business structuring, corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, and succession planning.

Before joining Osler, Alex was a corporate and tax associate at a leading Indigenous rights firm where she supported Indigenous communities with economic development, fiscal, and tax matters. Given this background, she has unique expertise in tax issues that arise in the Indigenous context, particularly as Indigenous participation in the resource and energy sectors increases.

While attending the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, Alex was awarded a Schulich Award for academic excellence in 2017, acted as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Dalhousie Journal of Legal Studies from 2018-2019, and participated in the Donald G.H. Bowman National Tax Moot in 2019.
