Matt completed his J.D. at the University of Victoria School of Law. Prior to law school, he obtained a Master of Arts in Social and Political Thought at York University, and a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Philosophy, at the University of Victoria.
During law school, Matt served as Education and Advocacy Coordinator for OUTLaws during his first year, Student Representative for SAGDA (CBA BC’s Sexual and Gender Diversity Alliance) in his second year, and volunteered with QMUNITY (BC’s Queer, Trans, and Two Spirit resource center) through Pro Bono Students Canada in his third year. Prior to law school, Matt worked as an engineering technologist at a large engineering firm.
