In the last year, the arena of tax disputes has been the subject of important developments dealing notably with challenges to the scope of the tax authorities audit process including disclosure of solicitor-client privileged documentation, tax accrual working papers, due diligence reports and requests for management interviews. Members of our Montréal tax group will present those recent developments, with a focus on solicitor-client privilege, dealing strategically and efficiently with tax authorities and managing tax audits. The seminar will include a discussion of best practices to follow in maintaining a proactive tax practice, including strategies to preserve solicitor-client privilege and anticipate audit issues.
