Recent developments in construction contracting

There have been a number of developments in construction contracting in the post-pandemic period as a result of some fundamental shifts in the market. Come hear Osler partners Elliot Smith and Andrew Wong speak about two issues in particular

• the enhanced focus on force majeure clauses, including the definition, exclusions and relief for force majeure events, and
• contractual responses to the adoption of prompt payment legislation in an increasing number of Canadian jurisdictions.

Elliot Smith is the author of The Canadian Construction Contracts Guidebook, the leading Canadian text on construction contracts. The second edition of this book will be coming out later this fall and has been updated to address these developments and many others since its initial publication in 2019.
