Please join us for an exclusive breakfast panel addressing critical trade challenges facing Canada at the commencement of the second Trump Administration. With increased uncertainty in Canada-U.S. economic relations affecting investment decisions in both directions, Osler’s International Trade team of Jesse Goldman and Matthew Kronby will explore the following topics:

Tariffs – the potential impacts of proposed US tariffs of up to 25% on Canadian goods, including sectors most at risk, and the consequences of Canadian retaliatory measures.

CUSMA – anticipated changes to the Canada-US-Mexico Agreement
Other trading partners – implications for Canada’s trade relationships with other global partners, particularly Japan, South Korea and the EU, as well as our position on China.

The way forward – with likely political change coming in Ottawa this year, how does a new Canadian government work effectively with our biggest trading partner and what could its trade policies be?

We hope you can join us for this event. It promises to be both interactive and informative, offering a deeper understanding of the impacts of a second Trump administration on Canadian businesses and the Canadian economy, and potential strategies to deal with enhanced trade risks in 2025 and beyond.

Breakfast will be provided.
