On July 8, 2022, Safran, number three in the inertial navigation systems, completed its acquisition of Orolia, the world leader in Resilient Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) solutions. This partnership makes Safran one of the only companies with the full complement of PNT technologies, bringing together Orolia's precise time referencing and Safran Electronics & Defense's inertial navigation solutions. Through this partnership, Safran will offer a set of resilient PNT architectures and equipment to meet the challenges of integrity and robustness for the aviation, defense, space, transportation, new mobility and critical infrastructure markets.

Safran is an international high-technology group, operating in the aviation, defense and space markets.

Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP acted as Canadian counsel to Safran with a team consisting of Niko Veilleux, Véronique Fortin-Latreille, Samuel Alary (Corporate), Jeremy Perron (Employment & Labour), Maryna Polataiko (Privacy & Data Management) and Danielle Chu (Competition & Antitrust).
