On May 2, 2022, Nicoya Lifesciences announced it had acquired LSK Technologies, a Kitchener-Waterloo based start-up. The acquisition comes just over four months after Nicoya announced a $20 million extension to its $10 million January 2020 Series A round. This acquisition offers an opportunity for Nicoya to bolster its foundation in point-of-need testing, and speed up its product development plans. As well, Nicoya plans to continue to support LSK’s existing customers, and offer LSK products under the Nicoya brand.

Nicoya Lifesciences is a Canadian life sciences tools company specializing in innovative biosensor technology for the academic, biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors.

Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP advised Nicoya Lifesciences with a team consisting of Chad Bayne, Chres Lee, Jennifer Humphrey (Emerging and High Growth Companies), Nathaniel Lipkus, Ryan Howes (Intellectual Property) and Darren Gill (Articling Student).
