On March 30, 2022, Amarillo Gold Corp. announced its acquisition by Hochschild Mining PLC for $164.5 million. The acquisition will create Lavras Gold Corp., a new Brazil-focused exploration company. The transaction will provide Lavras with the Lavras do Sul gold project located in southern Brazil.
Amarillo Gold Corp. is a Toronto-based exploration company focused on its two gold projects located in Brazil, the Posse Gold Project in Mara Rosa and the Lavras do Sul Project in Rio Grande do Sul State.
